About
Residue Gallery is a specialist dealer in 20th-century art and design, located in the heart of Brighton’s historic South Lanes.
Its in-house collection offers a carefully curated selection that explores the intersections of modernism, craft traditions, and the evolving conditions of post-industrial society. Rather than being organized by school or style, the works are contextualized through material culture, aesthetic development, and historical relevance.
From early rationalist furniture to mid-century organic forms, each piece is chosen for both its formal value and its role in a wider narrative of artistic and technological transformation.
The collection aims to trace the continuities and disruptions within the visual and material language of the last century, presenting objects that function as both historical documents and living artefacts.
A large proportion of stock remains offline. To view the full catalogue, please arrange a visit by emailing: info@residuegallery.com.

We’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re after a specific piece, curious about what’s lurking in our offline archive, or just fancy a good chat about mid-century joinery, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re always happy to arrange private viewings, send extra images, or offer our (usually well-informed) opinion on what might suit your space. No question is too small, too niche, or too nerdy. If it involves beautiful objects and good conversation, we’re in.
